Carnevale Clay : the work of ceramicist Anne Carnevale

Posted on July 06, 2010 | 2 comments

I love when I just-so-happen-upon fresh ceramic work.

My heart strings sang when I found these simple yet whimsical spoons by Carnevale Clay.

As the shop bio reads: "Anne Carnevale is a ceramicist currently working out of Denver. The work at Carnevale Clay is inspired by summers spent in kitchens under the Mediterranean sun, where carnevale is celebrated year round."

Anne's age-old crafting process, which includes coil and slab building, and decorative techniques such as sgraffito and slip painting on stoneware, give a rich, slightly rustic feel to her modern designs. These spoons caught my eye, but be sure to visit the Carnevale Clay shop and Flickr Stream to see her other work.
