Behind the Scenes at Paloma's Nest: "Doubling" our Real Estate!

Posted on June 25, 2010 | 0 comments

It has only been a mere seven months since we left my home studio and moved Paloma's Nest into a commercial studio in south Austin that would give us additional room for offices, a shipping department, and a production area.

We were crazy enough to make the move during our  busiest holiday season, which is a wonderful and festive, but hectic, time for us. We had no choice- we were bursting at the seams and needed to expand!

Well, this recent wedding season has brought another growth spurt to the studio, and once again, we could no longer move around our space!

The answer? We doubled our "real estate" by building this simple storage loft for all of our shipping and gift packaging materials. To our surprise, it filled up quickly as you can see in the top right of the second photo!  If only there had been enough room for a secret napping area up there....

Future plans include building additional lofts throughout the production area to continue to maximize the space of the high ceilings. After that, who knows?- its a good problem to have! How do you make the best use of your work or home storage space?
